We begin every inspection by understanding any past water issues in the home. If there’s been a flood in the bathroom or crawl space, that’s often the first place we check. From there, we conduct a thorough inspection from the crawl space to the attic*, looking for any signs of moisture or water intrusion.

This is where we become detectives. Sometimes, the mold is obvious—a client calls us after spotting it in their bathroom or behind their sofa. Other times, a family experiences unexplained sickness but can’t find any visible mold. In those cases, we check common mold-prone areas, assess the water for mold contamination, and, if necessary, conduct testing.

Many people request a mold test but, in most cases, the mold issue is obvious, and waiting ~3 days for test results isn’t always necessary—especially if there are kids in the home.

When mold is visible, addressing it immediately is often the best course of action.
